I'm Ready to book!
A person wearing a black beanie and a black shirt with pink and white text, holding a baby, is reaching towards a cluster of colorful balloons inside a building near large windows.

Un apperçu

A group of people standing and sitting on a porch with a beige brick wall, white pillars, and a wooden deck, surrounded by potted flowers and plants under a blue sky.

“Je voulais juste prendre un petit

moment pour te remercier

infiniment de la part de nous

tous pour le merveilleux cadeau

que tu nous a fait! Tu as su

capter toute l'essence de notre

chez nous dans sa ruralité et

l'amour qui s'y promène. Tu as

You've booked a session. Now what?!

You’ve picked a date, hit the proverbial “book session” button and now… what?! Do you just wait and hope for the best? Nope. 😉

Depending on the kind of session we’ve booked, we’ll have a quick phone call or an email exchange, whatever feels easiest for you. For Day in the Life and Half Day in the Life sessions, I love meeting in person beforehand. Having the whole family see my face and interact with me at least once before I show up with a camera makes a surprisingly big difference, especially for little ones (and camera-shy grown-ups!).

I’ll also send you a little questionnaire before our session so I can get to know your family, your plans, and what matters to you. Whether we’re documenting everyday life at home in Montréal, a family vacation in Métis-sur-Mer, a day at the Botanical Gardens, or simply spending a few hours following wherever your family naturally takes us, we’ll go into the session with a plan, but not a script.

The goal is for everyone to feel comfortable enough to forget I’m there. That’s when the good stuff happens.

Who am I not the photographer for?

If what you’re looking for is a perfectly posed family portrait on a white background, everyone looking at the camera, beautifully coordinated outfits and not a single stray crumb in sight… I am probably not your girl.

And that’s totally okay! There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting that kind of photography. It’s just not what makes me excited to pick up my camera.

I have some wonderfully talented photographer friends who specialize in that kind of work, and I’d be very happy to point you in their direction.

I’m much more interested in what happens between the poses. The ridiculous, tender, loud, awkward, ordinary, completely-you stuff.

Who are my clients?

My families are the ones who want to remember what it actually felt like to be there.

Maybe you’re raising tiny humans in Montréal and want photographs of the beautiful, ridiculous chaos of everyday life. Maybe you’re visiting Montréal for a family vacation and want something more meaningful than the obligatory group photo in front of a landmark. Maybe you’re recently separated and you want new pictures for your walls. Maybe you’re documenting a season of life before your kids get any bigger, or gathering everyone together while you’re all in the same place.

And maybe, if you’re anything like me, you’re tired of not being in the pictures. You want more than the occasional selfie, or the one you had to ask for which broke the magic of the moment!

You probably don’t particularly love posing. You might actively hate having your photograph taken. You want the belly laughs, messy hair, wandering feet, big feelings, quiet cuddles, and all the weird little things your family does that you never want to forget. My approach to documentary family photography is mostly hands-off, with a little gentle direction when it helps the story along.

I want to be welcomed into your world and photograph it as it really is. Your family, your place, your people, doing your thing.

What if my family is… a lot?

Your toddler refuses to cooperate. Someone spills their breakfast. Your teenager would rather be literally anywhere else. The baby cries. Your partner didn’t pack diapers. The dog loses its mind. Your partner tells you they’re “just not good at photos.”

Excellent. You’re exactly where you need to be.

You don't need to get everyone dressed, fed, happy, clean and emotionally regulated before I arrive. In fact, please don't….

I’m not coming to manufacture a perfect family moment. I’m coming to photograph your actual family, which means we might have chaos, quiet, negotiations, snack breaks, big feelings and a whole lot of running around.

You don't have to perform for me. You just have to be yourselves. I’ll take care of the rest.

Also… I have a toddler a baby and a partner who hates their picture taken… I’ve been there ;)
